A few commissions each year
Custom furniture made selectively — designed with you, built by hand in California, made to last decades. Recent work below.
What I take on
My primary work is cutting and serving boards. I selectively take on furniture commissions — a few each year. So far I've built a set of solid oak nightstands.
If you're considering a similar piece — side tables, smaller case goods, an occasional piece — let's talk. For larger commissions (dining tables, full built-ins), I'll be honest about whether I'm the right fit.
Every commission starts with a conversation. I want to understand the space, the use, the people, and the budget before I sketch anything.
How a commission works
-
01.
We talk. You tell me what you're imagining, where it lives, what budget you have in mind, and when you need it.
-
02.
I send a hand sketch or rough computer drawing and a beginning cost estimate. No commitment yet.
-
03.
If you want to move forward, we select the wood, finalize dimensions, and sign a contract with a deposit before I begin work.
-
04.
I build in my California shop. I film the build for my YouTube channel. You can visit if you're local.
-
05.
Local delivery within Northern California. Shipping is not currently available.

What to expect
Custom furniture from a one-person shop reflects the labor, the materials, and the time it takes to do the work properly. Pricing varies — a small side table is priced differently than a more complex piece. I'll send a rough estimate after our first conversation, before you commit to anything.
Lead times are 12-16 weeks from contract signing. I take on a few commissions per year, so timing depends on what's already on the bench.
I deliver locally within Northern California. No shipping at this time.
By default, I film commissioned builds for my YouTube channel — but you control how visible you are. Your name is never used (you get a code name). I can blur faces, skip the reveal shot, or you can be on camera if you'd like. Whatever feels right to you.
Tell me about your project
Send me a note with what you're considering, where it'll live, and any timing constraints. I read every inquiry myself and respond within three business days — sometimes faster.
If we're not the right fit, I'll tell you that honestly.
