I'm third-generation Italian — the olive tree, olive oil, and the ritual of gathering around a shared table are threads I grew up with.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThis summer I mentored a high school intern through the Shmunis Internship Program at our local Jewish Community Center. In Jewish tradition, the olive tree is also sacred — a symbol of endurance and light. It felt right to spend this summer working with olive wood while she worked alongside me on her first real product launch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\"\u003eBoth planks came from MacBeath Hardwood in Berkeley, California. Boards 01–04 came from one plank, 05 and 06 from another.
